Igor Gubskiy was born June 11, 1954 in village of Kadievka in Luhansk region.
In 1969-1973, he studied at Voroshilovograd (Lugansk) Art School and got the diploma of a teacher of sketching and drawing in the high school.
In 1973-1979 Igor was a student of Viktor Puzirkov at the Painting Faculty of the Kyiv State Art Institute (now – National Academy of Art and Architecture).
Since 1974, the artist took an active part in group, city, republican and all-Union art exhibitions and since 1980 – in the international art expositions.
1979-1980 – army service.
1981-1984 – post graduate study under Professor Sergey Grigoriev.
In 1983, he became a member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR (now – the National Union of Artists of Ukraine)
1990 – participation in «Christie’s» and «Phillips». All his works (12 paintings) there were sold.
His works can be found in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, Russia), Kunstmuseum (Malmo, Sweden), Gorlovka Art Museum, Sumy Art Museum, Lugansk Art Museum and in private collections of Ukraine, England, Israel, Canada, the USA (New York and Chicago) and Sweden.
1987 – personal exhibition in Kunstmuseum (Malmo, Sweden).
2008 – personal exhibition in Tadzio Gallery (Kyiv, Ukraine).
2009 – personal exhibition in Persona Gallery (Kyiv, Ukraine).
2009 – participation in IV International Art Fair «Аrt-Kiev 2009».
2010 – participation in Art Fair «Interior Art», Museum of Spiritual
Treasures of Ukraine.
2010 – participation in International Art Fair “Fine Art Ukraine 2010”.
